mastermind & Vans Said “Sweet Dreams” With Skulls, Bolts, & PJs

Vans Vault pays another visit to the world of mastermind as the two prepare to drop another collaborative collection of apparel and sneakers together.

In another marriage of the duo’s signature codes, we’re met with a capsule filled with skulls, bolts, and checkerboards, blanketing classic Vans silhouettes and relaxed clothing options.

With five collaborative models up for grabs, there’s plenty to choose from to say the least. Like last year, the brands are offering fresh pairs of Old Skools and SK8 His. This time, however, the shoes arrive with an oversized lighting bolt striking the sole.

As a sucker for detail, I also noticed how the bolt is cleverly included in the leather and suede upper, as outlined on the paneling near the lace system.

mastermind’s logo hits on the heel, while Vans branding settles in its customary spots. At the same time, a transparent sole exposes Vans’ signature checkerboard mingling with mastermind emblems, sealing the deal on the collaborative effort.

As for the other set of kicks — an Authentic, Old Skool LX, and SK8 Hi Re-issue — these boast mastermind’s skull motif in a repetitive pattern on the midsole.

And again, fans can expect the same suede and leather build for the second set, joined by subtle Vans and mastermind stamps of approval.

Topping off this collab, mastermind and Vans deliver solid clothing options like silky pjs and a slip dress covered in checkerboard and mastermind.

There’s also a travel cushion and a basic black zip-up hoodie featuring the mastermind skull on the backside.

Though this isn’t a three-way linkup involving END. again, the retailer will release the collaborative drop on its website through a draw.
